Networking Opportunities:

• Business After/During Hours:  Members will have the opportunity to participate in this monthly event hosted by a fellow business member. Each month, a business volunteers to host the event to educate members about their products and services.  This is a great way to network with other members and potential business clients.

• Weekly Communication:  Each week, the Chamber Blast of Information is provided via email to all members.  This weekly newsletter lists various events and announcements for the upcoming week.

• Ribbon Cutting/Groundbreaking Ceremony for new businesses:  The Chamber office will organize a ribbon cutting/groundbreaking ceremony for any new business in the area that becomes a Chamber member.  

• Opportunities to serve on Chamber committees:  There are several committees focusing on new membership, education, fund raising, and more to get chamber members involved in the community and make their business more visible.

Professional Development:

• Seminars and workshops designed to help your business grow: Opportunities for free hospitality and marketing training seminars

• Business Meeting with Speakers:  Two business meetings/educational seminars a year to include a guest speaker on issues pertinent to our businesses.

Advocacy:

• Advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels:  Our local Chamber is a part of a bigger group on the state and federal levels.  These groups lobby for our businesses in Charleston and Washington.  .

• Chamber Links:  Each week, you will receive a forward electronically of Chamber Links, the weekly publication of the WV State Chamber of Commerce.  This publication will keep you up to date on legislative issues focusing on business.

Marketing and Visibility:

• Information Center:  The ability to display your company literature and business cards at the Chamber office. 

• Free listing on the Chamber website:  When people are searching for business solutions, your business category listing will bring you added notice.

• Link to your website:  Availability to link to your business website directly from the Chamber website.

• Free listing in the Member Directory: The Chamber will publish a Member Directory to include a listing of each member. This directory is useful for recruiting, relocation, and business partnership projects

• Business Referrals: Each day, the Chamber office receives requests for goods and services provided in the Nicholas County area.  Member businesses are given first referrals.

• Business of the Quarter:  Each quarter, one business will be selected to receive the Business of Excellence Award.

• Seal of Credibility:  Add the Summersville Area Chamber of Commerce logo to your website.  Members can increase business just by making it known that they are affiliated with the Summersville Area Chamber of Commerce.
