12 high school students will be selected through an application process to participate in the Challenge, which will begin in September of 2011, and will continue through December. Each month, the students will participate in a day long seminar, with morning lecture sessions focusing on entrepreneurial/leadership concepts. Afternoon sessions will entail visits to local businesses for hands on education. In December, the students will be divided into groups and given 2 days to develop a new business plan, to include a name, description of product or service, financing, marketing, etc. as well as how the business will be used as leadership in the community. The groups will present their new business to a team of judges and awards will be given. A banquet will be held for the students, Chamber business members, educators, and parents to award the students for participation and completion of the program as well as announcing the winners of the new business awards.
